Deconstruction eventually leads to reinvention or a restructuring of potential new possibilities in one's life and art. As a painter for 40 years I always grappled with the thought that a single fixed point of view was limited. I wanted my paintings to be able to change over time, become less of a static object. I wanted my art to incorporate motion. My After Effects composition "The Reinventor" allowed me to be able to realize this long-term goal. With twenty years of photographed images of my work at my disposal it was time to reinvent my work.
The Reinventor project was developed during a final Graduate studio class at Miami International University of Art. An intuitive process similar to making a painting led me to select images based on similarities of formal properties. Photoshop was extensively used to recompose my images to a widescreen format and Pro Tools used to record the soundtrack. My past was integrated conceptually and digitally into the present

The Dinner Party
A work in progress based on a painting called the Green Table I made several years ago. The new artwork/painting is renamed for the present project. A statement about politics and corporate greed is explored here. Thanks to Anthony Siarkiewicz for assisting me with this video.
The Inventor was created in my grad studio class at Miami international University of Art. This is my first After Effects project. The content of the video is based on the lyrics of my son's song The Inventor from his album Tides.
